Eiji Aonuma: Breath of the Wild Will Have More Voice Acting, Link Still Silent

Eiji Aonuma told Game Informer today that Breath of the Wild would have more voice acting then what was heard in the E3 version, but Link would still be silent.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild opens with a disembodied voice (possibly Zelda) telling Link to wake up and open his eyes. It’s worth noting that this voice over is in English, a first for the series. Series producer Eiji Aonuma told us the game would feature more voice over, but wouldn’t say if the game would be fully voiced. Series fans will also be happy to know that Link is still a silent protagonist.

He's been playing video games his entire life, and has gotten progressively worse at them as he's gotten older and more decrepit. He's been running this place (into the ground) since 2013. He's old. Keeps writing about Nintendo despite mountains of evidence proving he should never write anything. Very old. Lifelong Nintendo fan, doesn't care what you think about that. Did I mention how old he is? Because he's very old.
  • So even with voice acting in BotW, Link is as mute as ever other than his yells and attacks.

Long live the silent protagonist. ^_^
