Namco Founder Masaya Nakamura Has Passed Away At 91

The founder of Namco, Masaya Nakamura, passed away on January 22nd. Bandai Namco announced. His wake and funeral were held with close relatives, and at his request news of his passing was withheld until after the services. A farewell gathering is planned for a later date.

Mr. Nakamura founded Nakamura Manufacturing in 1955, which became Namco in 1977. He was an honorary member of the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a senior advisor to the Japan Amusement Machine and Marketing Association.

He's been playing video games his entire life, and has gotten progressively worse at them as he's gotten older and more decrepit. He's been running this place (into the ground) since 2013. He's old. Keeps writing about Nintendo despite mountains of evidence proving he should never write anything. Very old. Lifelong Nintendo fan, doesn't care what you think about that.
