Nintendo Announces Breath of the Wild DLC – New Story, Hard Mode and More

Well this was a surprise. Nintendo just revealed an expansion pass for Breath of the Wild.

It will cost $19.99 / £17.99 / €19.99 and it be available to buy at launch. At launch you’ll get three new treasure chests on the Great Plateau, one which contains a shirt with a Nintendo Switch logo on it. Two others will “deliver useful items.” The first actual DLC pack will be launched this summer, and will contain a new Cave of Trials, a new hard mode, and a new feature for the map.

The second pack, scheduled for winter 2017, will have “new challenges that will let players enjoy a new dungeon and a new original story.”

The DLC packs will be released for both the Wii U and Nintendo Switch versions of the game, so at the very least you can’t complain about Wii U owners being left out.

Breath of the Wild is completed, this is new content not “stuff that was cut out that they’re charging us for.”

I wonder what the “original story” will be?

He's been playing video games his entire life, and has gotten progressively worse at them as he's gotten older and more decrepit. He's been running this place (into the ground) since 2013. He's old. Keeps writing about Nintendo despite mountains of evidence proving he should never write anything. Very old. Lifelong Nintendo fan, doesn't care what you think about that. Did I mention how old he is? Because he's very old.
