Rant: The supposed Switch 2 “confusion” is a load of crap

It’s happening again, elements of the gaming media and Nintendo-hating trolls on social media are trying to create a narrative about people being “confused” about the Switch 2 vs the Switch.

Yeah, no.

We have five Playstation consoles so far and NO ONE is “confused” about any of them, the “2” for the Switch 2 is clearly displayed on the box for both the system AND the games. It’s clearly a successor system and nothing Nintendo has shown or the way they’re handling the launch would make anyone think otherwise.

NO serious person could ever claim they “don’t know what they’re buying.”

Then there is this claim I’ve seen that supposedly “tech-savvy” parents don’t understand that the Switch 2 is a new system and games designed for it don’t work on the old system.

Bullshit.

These people are NOT “tech-savvy” if they don’t understand a simple concept for console gaming that’s existed since the fucking 1980s: Games designed for a successor system do not work on the previous one.

The Switch 2 name is not confusing, the box for the system is not confusing, the boxes for the games are not confusing.

It’s just yet another case of the media and certain people trying to get attention and clicks for themselves by pushing a disingenuous narrative.
